T‌he American Philosophical Society provides funding for a wide range of research topics including the humanities and field work such as archeology, anthropology, biology, ecology, geography, geology, linguistics, paleontology, and population genetics.

 

The National Endowment for the Humanities promotes excellence in the humanities and conveys the lessons of history to all Americans. The American Council of Learned Societies funds arts, humanities and related social science research. Proposals in interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary humanities and related social sciences are welcome.
